  • AP Testing this Week – AP Exams will be taken at Alta High over the next two weeks. See the Alta High Counseling Website for more information.

  • Senior Dinner Dance – The Class of 2021 is invited to attend this year’s Senior Dinner Dance on Friday, May 14th at The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium. More information can be found on page 5, and tickets can be purchased here.

  • Drill Team Parent Meeting & Tryouts – Alta Drill will be back for the 2021-2022 school year! There will be a parent meeting on May 6th, and tryouts are next week. Students interested in participating can find more details on page 6.

  • Cheer Parent Meeting & Tryouts – Alta Cheer will hold their parent meeting on May 11th, and tryouts for the 2021-2022 season will occur at the end of this month. Students interested in participating can find more details on page 7.

  • Class of 2021 Graduation Ceremonies – It’s official! The Class of 2021 graduation ceremonies will be held on May 26th at 10:00am at the University of Utah Huntsman Center. Each graduate can invite up to four guests. See page 4 for more details. Additionally, seniors who qualified for one or more graduation cords can pick them up in the Alta Main Office

  • Summer School Opportunities – Attention Parents & Students! We finally have information about the Summer School options for Valley, Jordan High and Canyons Virtual High School. As a reminder, you have to have received an F on your transcript to be able to take credit recovery classes at Valley or Jordan. Please make sure you come see your counselor before the end of the year so we can help you pick the credits you need to make up this Summer. See pages 8-10 below for more information about each of these options.

  • End of Year Textbook & Chromebook Return – All library books are due May 13. Students will be returning textbooks and English novels on May 17 & 18 in their classes. Parents and students will receive a list of all items checked out next week. Senior students will be returning their Chromebooks in their English class May 19 or 20. Students in grades 9-11 who are returning to Alta next year will keep their Chromebook for the summer.

  • Alta PTSA is filling spots for next year’s board and invites you to sign up! You can help our school community in meaningful ways even if you are only able to offer small amounts of time. Please check out this link and sign up by May 15th.

  • Graduation Party – The annual Graduation Party for Alta Students, sponsored by the PTSA and Pepperwood Homeowners Association, will be held at the Pepperwood park on May 26th from 9:00PM-2:00AM. Although this is not affiliated with or sponsored by Alta High, it is a great party which provides a safe and fun place for our kids to celebrate for over 30 years now. One ticket per student, cash only. $30 per ticket. There will be no tickets sold the night of the party. Please pass this info along to your students if they are interested in attending. The schedule to buy tickets is as follows:

    May 3rd & 4th- Seniors and Juniors  
    May 5th- Sophomores 
    May 6th- Freshman

    If you are interested and able to volunteer as a chaperone, please contact Laurie Cole at 702-354-2577 to sign up for a shift.

  • Keys to Success Live Assembly – Students are encouraged to watch the live Keys to Success Virtual Assembly on May 14th at 3:30pm. Keys to Success will host this livestream to recognize scholarship recipients and reward students who watch the assembly video. These rewards include prize packs, Mountain America Credit Union Money Prizes, and the opportunity to become a Car Giveaway Finalist.

  • Alta Summer School Driver Education – Students interested in taking summer school Dr. Ed. will need to register in the main office before or after school or at lunch. The course is for anyone who has not graduated and will be at least 16 years old by January 1st, 2022. The class will begin on June 1st and end on June 17th. It will be in person but Canvas-based.
