Student Body Officers Elections: Current Juniors, are you interested in being a Student Body Officer for the 2025 – 2026 school year? There will be an informational meeting about SBO elections on Tuesday, February 18th in the library during Advisory.
Applications are due on Thursday, March 6th by 3:00pm. Students will apply at schoolelections.canyonsdistrict.org . For more information, you can contact Shaley Louder at shaley.louder@canyonsdistrict.org
Yearbook Senior Tributes/Baby Ads: If you are a senior grade level student and are interested in purchasing space for a personal baby ad, please see the attached flier regarding steps on how to arrange for that.
Attention Freshman Students and Parents!: Attention 9th graders and parents of 9th graders! We will be starting the 9th grade Plan for College and Career Readiness (PCCR) group presentations this week. During this group meeting, students will be choosing classes for their next year’s schedule. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend. This presentation will be held in the Alta Library during your English class as indicated by the postcard sent home. If you have not received a postcard or have questions concerning the PCCR meetings, please call the Alta Counseling Center at 801-826-5620.
Valentine’s Day Surprises!: Do you want to send your student a Valentine surprise at school? Alta’s Peer Leadership Team is selling lip suckers for only $1.25. “Attention Juniors!: The ACT will be administered at Alta High School on Wednesday, March 12th 2025. The ACT is provided free to Juniors and all Juniors are pre-registered. Sycamore Learning will conduct an informative seminar on March 1st, 2025, to help students prepare for the exam. Details on how to register and pay for the seminar are enclosed and can be found in the Counseling Center.

Parents of Juniors: It is now time for our junior girls to apply for Utah Girls State. Utah Girls State is a week-long program created with the purpose of educating Utah’s youth about their duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of citizenship. Participants graduating from Girls State will receive 3 Political Science 2920 credits from Weber State University. Important deatils include:
- June 1-6, 2025
- Weber State University Campus
- $475 if paid prior to April 1
- 3 University Political Science Credits
- WSU offers over $1M in scholarships to attendees

U of U Engineering Summer 2025 Internship: The application is open and will close on February 15th . This is an 8-week program that will run from June 9th until August 1st . Interns will be matched with a current faculty member to work in their lab on research projects throughout the summer. This is an unpaid internship, interns are expected to work up to 30 hours per week. Students who will be graduating in 2026 or 2027 may apply.

- Copy of unofficial transcripts
- 1 Letter of Recommendation from Science, Math, Technology, or Engineering Teacher
- Write a 2-page essay response to a prompt on the application
