√ Positive Behavior & Celebrations: We can hardly believe that the final month of the school year is upon us! A few highlights from the past week: We want to congratulate our Ballroom Team for a fantastic series of concerts last week. We also want to cheer on our Boys’ Varsity Tennis Team who is currently undefeated in region play. Likewise, we celebrate our students who participated in Hope Week by making an effort to spread kindness to others. And we congratulate our Madrigals on earner straight superiors at their state competition over the weekend! Many thanks to the many quiet difference-makers who make Alta High truly unique.

√ AP Testing 2022: AP Students and Parents, please refer to the AP schedule included in this newsletter to make sure you know the date, time and location for any AP exam(s) you are taking this year. Please also take note of the items to bring and not bring. Students will need to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the exam start time to get checked in and find their assigned seat. They will be excused from any class time they miss due to testing. If you have any questions, please contact Alta’s AP Coordinator, Shannon Kershaw at shannon.kershaw@canyonsdistrict.org.”

√ Updates to Kitchen & Lunchtime: A clarification regarding our new scanners in the kitchen. As we discovered last week, the scanners will scan only students’ electronic ID on the Skyward app on a phone, not a physical ID as was advertised last week. We thank students once again for their patience with this new process as we work out the bugs.

√ Teacher Appreciation Week(s) is nearly upon us. We want to express our sincerest appreciation for the people in the building who make the most difference to students day in and out, our teachers! We know it takes everyone in the school to make a difference, and we also want to acknowledge our support staff and the effort they make on behalf of students as well. We thank our PTSA for sponsoring activities the week of May 9th-13th and to our office staff for planning several gestures of gratitude for this upcoming week.

√ Senior Dinner Dance 2022 is on May 19th: The theme for this year’s dinner dance, to which all seniors are invited is, “When Can I See You Again”. The event will be held at the Loveland Aquarium at 12033 Lone Peak Pkwy, Draper, UT 84020 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Dress is semi-formal. Tickets are $35 each and include entry to the aquarium, the dinner, and the dance. Note that tickets are pre-purchase ONLY and must be purchased by: Tuesday, May 10th at 6:00 p.m.
