This week, we will have our Fall Parent Teacher Conferences taking place on Monday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 24. Please see more information below on how to sign up for appointment times with your child’s teachers. This is a great way to get feedback on your student’s progress, as well as to collaborate with teachers for any support needed. We are excited to see you soon!
✔Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences for Alta High School are coming up next Monday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 24. We look forward to meeting with you!
Conferences for both nights will be by appointment only. You can schedule these appointments through your Skyward Family Access account. Follow the instructions found at this link. The window to schedule conferences with your student’s teachers will begin on Wednesday, September 17 at 9:00am, and will close on Monday September 22 at 8:00am. If you are unable to schedule a time during these conferences, feel free to email your student’s teachers to begin a communication and/or schedule another time to meet.
Conference Details:
- All conference appointments will be scheduled 5-7 minutes. If you would like to arrange for an extended meeting, please reach out to the teacher to schedule an alternate time.
- Conferences for Monday, September 22 will be IN-PERSON. Each conference will be held in that teacher’s classroom. Please reference your student’s schedule for the room number. A copy of their schedule can be found in your Skyward family access account. Available appointment times vary between 3:00-7:30pm.
- Conferences for Wednesday, September 24 will be IN PERSON from 3:00pm – 5pm, and VIRTUAL ONLY from 5pm – 7pm. Each teacher will have a Google meets link that you will use at your scheduled appointment time, if you are doing a virtual conference during that time block. Please reference our school’s website: ahs.canyonsdistrict.org, for theses links. Available appointment times vary between 5pm-7pm.
- Translation services for Spanish will be available both nights. If you speak another language and would like translation services, please reach out to the school.
✔PSAT Information
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a great tool for students considering college. The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills and writing skills. It is also taken to enter the competition for National Merit Scholar scholarships (11th graders) and to help prepare for the SAT. The 2025 PSAT will be administered on Thursday, October 30th. Students participating in this exam will be excused from their morning classes. Exam registration and payment will take place online beginning on August 18th. Students will register and pay at: www.totalregistration.net/PSAT/450402
The cost for the PSAT will remain the same this year at $20 per exam. The registration and payment deadline are Friday, September 26th. A $5 late fee will begin on Monday, September 22nd. There are a limited number of spaces available, so please don’t wait until the last minute. Please note that the PSAT test will be given in digital format. College Board no longer allows paper testing of the PSAT NMSQT. Students will need to bring a district issued, fully charged Chromebook to the exam. Freshman Class Officer Elections: Is your freshman interested in running for student government? There will be an informational meeting about Student Government Freshman Elections on Tuesday, September 16th during advisory, in the Library. Students will apply to run at schoolelections.canyonsdistrict.org . Applications are due on October 2nd. Campaigning will begin on October 13th. Please start thinking about campaign ideas now.
