October 21, 2024 Weekly Newsletter

Hello wonderful Alta Community,

We hope you and your students enjoyed a great fall break. We are looking forward to having students return tomorrow.  This week is also the conclusion of Quarter 1. Final grades for this quarter will be posted next week.

PTSA Fundraising Week: Alta PTSA is asking for donations this week – it’s fast, easy and fun. We need to raise $10,000 to keep our PTSA going.

  • Why donate? – Alta PTSA serves meals during Parent Teacher Conferences, gives appreciation gifts for teachers, extends teacher grants to fund classroom supplies, funds the Hawk Soar Award for students, facilitates a student service club, and brings you Reflections and Battle of the Bands.
  • Why now? – This week, we have several thank-you gifts for donations. With Wednesday donations, your student gets a Beanie. On Thursday, you can send a thank you candy to a teacher of your choice. On Friday, send a candy gram to your student (delivered the week of Halloween!). Please donate now to keep these programs going at Alta High.

PTSA: We are in need of 8 volunteers to help with the vision and hearing screenings on Thursday, Oct. 24th, from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m.  If you can spare some time to help, we would truly appreciate it.  Just go to the following link to sign up, and thanks in advance for being so willing to help!

Hawk Hero Recognitions: Alta PTSA has begun our monthly Hawk Hero recognitions! Hawk Heroes are nominated by teachers, staff, students or parents for exceptional representation of Alta High through qualities such as work ethic, community service, and kindness. Each student receives a gift bag full of Alta swag, freebies and goodies. Juniors and Seniors also receive a reserved parking space in the student lot for the month. We are grateful for community partners that have supported this cause, including: Alta PTSA members, The Habit, Robeks, Arctic Circle, Menchie’s, and Crave. The following students were recognized as our October Hawk Heroes:
