  • Positive Behavior Interventions & Celebrations: Congratulations to our Dance Company who performed impressively at their Dance Concert this past week in the Performing Arts Center. Also, congratulations to Merrin Maughan for her achievement as a Sterling Scholar State Finalist Runner-up for Speech/Theatre Arts/Forensics this past week!
  • Important! Chromebook updates for end-of-year testing: As we get ready for the end of the year testing, students are required to bring their school-issued Chromebook so we can provide updates, verify inventory and perform functionality to their devices on Wednesday, March 23rd during Advisory. ALL STUDENTS are required to participate in this activity. Aspire testing for 9th and 10th grade students will take place on April 20th and 21st. More information about scheduling for these dates will be forthcoming. We thank you for reminding your student to bring their school-issued Chromebook to school on March 23rd for this important update.
  • Seniors, apply for your graduation recognition cords! The cord is symbolic of the involvement and success you have demonstrated within a specific department. You can wear as many cords at graduation as you qualify for. Each department is represented with a different color. See your teacher or departments chairs for specific information. Graduation will be on May 25th at the University of Utah at 10:00 a.m.!
  • CTE Survey: Our Career and Technical Education Department has an annual requirement to gather survey responses from parents regarding CTE programs at our school.  We invite you to participate in this short survey.  Thank you!
  • PTSA Info: The PTA Student Scholarship application is open. Visit this link for more information.
  • Alta High Community Wellness Night will be held on Thursday, March 30th. Join us for an evening focusing on helping our teenagers to navigate their world, including technology use and beyond.  See flyer below for additional information. Community resources that will be available that evening include: Hopeful Beginnings, Behavioral Health Services, Stabilization and Mobile Response, South Valley Services- domestic violence shelter, Uni Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, Salt Lake County Youth Services, Multicultural Counseling Center, AFSP- Foundation for suicide prevention Canyons Family Center, and more.
  • Student Government Class Officers – Any freshmen, sophomores, or juniors interested in running for student government class officers, there is an informational meeting on Monday, April 11th in room 2121 at 2:30 p.m.  Applications must be submitted by April 13th at 7:00 am.  For questions, please contact Shaley Louder.  Email: shaley.louder@canyonsdistrict.org
  • Graduation Speaker & Music Tryouts in April: This year’s theme for graduation is: “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory” – Dr. Seuss.  The following are opportunities for seniors to participate in the graduation ceremony for the class of 2022: Graduation Speaker tryouts will be held during the third week of April (date TBD) after school. For more information please see Mr. Ochoa in room 1309.  Graduation Music / Performance tryouts will be held after school. After Spring Break, there will be sign-up sheets for audition times outside Mr. Shabestari’s, Ms. Struiksma’s & Ms. Iund’s classrooms.
  • Math Workouts: Math Workouts are a new way to stay in math “shape” and will be held from 2:30-4:00 after school beginning February 18th in room 2103. See math teachers for specific locations. Math tutoring is also available daily during Advisory in room 1118.
