The NJROTC (Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) program was established in 1964 and focuses on how to be a responsible citizen, learning about the military, and the importance of leadership. You can take an ROTC class through Canyons School District.
ROTC is great for confidence, discipline, and leadership and will look good on resumes for job applications.
While you are not automatically enlisted for the military after high school by joining the ROTC, you will enter a step above the rest should you choose that path.
There are many ways you could become involved in the JROTC:
- Drill team (practices Monday-Tuesday from 2:35-3:35)
- Armed Drill team (practices Wednesday-Thursday from 2:35-3:35)
- Color guard (practice Friday from 1:00-2:00)

Note, for any of the activities above, students must be able to provide their own mode of transportation (whether they drive themselves or carpool).
