Aspire Testing – 9th and 10th Grades
This year, the Reading, Math, and Science Aspire Testing for 9th and 10th grade students will occur on one day, Tuesday, March 31.
Please see the modified schedule below for this day, as well as the schedule for ALL students once testing has concluded.
***School Buses will run a NORMAL bus schedule on Tuesday, March 31, and will not arrive at Alta for dismissal until the usual afternoon time.
***School breakfast will be available for students the morning of March 31, before testing. School lunch will be available after testing.
The Aspire Test helps us to determine how well our students have mastered content in math, science, and reading, and to know where we can improve our instruction in the classroom. We invite students to do their very best on this exam, as it helps us to prepare them for ACT testing and to determine their grade level proficiency.
Student testing room assignments will be posted in the Commons by Friday, March 27***Should you wish to opt out your student from his exam, please pick up a form in the Main Office or Attendance Office (forms will not be given to students). These forms must be completed and returned to the Main or Attendance offices or to Mrs. Melissa Lister, Assistant Principal, prior to the exam date.***

Freshmen & Sophomores begin checking into assigned testing rooms: 7:15-7:40am
Math Testing Begins: 7:45am
Math Testing Ends: 9am
Break (10 minutes): 9:00-9:10am
Reading Testing Begins: 9:10am
Reading Testing Ends: 10:30am
Break (5 minutes): 10:30-10:35am
Science Testing Begins: 10:35am
Science Testing Ends: 11:35am
Return Materials: 11:35 a.m.
Lunch (only 1): 11:35 a.m.- 12:35 p.m.
Teacher Consultation Time and AP/CE test prep: 12:35 – 2:25pm

Create With Kindness! – A Family Friendly Event!
On March 25th, from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. in Alta’s Library, the PTSA will be hosting a family friendly event where teens, parents, and caregivers will gain practical information and resources to enhance online safety. We will also discuss how to create a positive impact online while setting positive digital boundaries. Heather Huish from Stand4Kind will be our presenter, assisted by two of Canyons Digital Specialists, Katie Gebhardt and Jonathan Stewart. We will have a drawing that evening for lots of High Tech prizes, such as a Kindle, Airpods, and more! Gift bags will be given to parents and teens who come together!
