VENTURES SCHOLARS PROGRAM The Ventures Scholars Program is open to underrepresented and first-generation college-bound students. You must be pursuing a math or science based career to be considered for this award.
M3CHALLENGE – MOODY’S MEGA MATH CHALLENGE Must be a junior or a senior to participate. Two teams are allowed per school. Each team must be made up of three to five students and one teacher-coach. Each team must submit a solution to the open-ended modeling problem. No help may be obtained for this challenge.

FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP IN SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS – UNIVERSITY OF UTAH Applicant must be admitted to the University of Utah as a freshman degree-seeking student majoring in biology, chemistry, math or physics to be awarded this scholarship. Applicant must complete the application, write a one-page letter/essay expressing their interest in math and/or science and their career goals, and include an official high school transcript, including their second semester, senior year classes. Applicant must have letters of recommendation from two science and/or math teachers sent directly from the teacher to the College of Science. The University recommendation forms are NOT accepted.

SOUTHERN UTAH UNIVERSITY – S-STEM SCHOLARSHIP Applicant must be a senior in high school who will be attending Southern Utah University in the fall of 2017. Applicant must have a demonstrated academic talent and a demonstrated financial need and will be majoring in the fields of Biology/Zoology/Botany, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology, or Mathematics. VENTURES SCHOLARS PROGRAM This program offers a variety of services and opportunities and is designed to promote access to higher education for young adults interested in pursuing math- and science-based careers. To be nominated to the Ventures Scholars Program a student needs to have a 3.0 GPA or higher and have expressed an interest in a math-or science-based career. Students must be a member of an underrepresented group (African American/Black, American Indian/Native American, and Hispanic/Latino/a) or be a first-generation college-bound student. A first-generation collegebound student is a student whose parents/guardians didn’t have any education beyond high school. Race and ethnicity are not factors. Nominees must meet one of the following requirements: PSAT – score a minimum of 50 on the math and verbal sections. SAT – score a minimum of 550 on the math and verbal sections. PLAN – score a minimum of 18 on the math, science, English, and reading sections. ACT – score a minimum of 19 on the math, science, English, and reading sections.
