Todd Call: nominated by Logan Laszcyk and Cheryl Hughs Todd is the ultimate team player. He sits on and contributes to our student study team. He is the teacher that is heading up our new credit recovery program, Nova-Net. He also is very flexible and accommodating when a student needs to be put in one of his math classes.
Morgan Brown: nominated by MacKenzie Hyer I would like to nominate Morgan Brown. Morgan cars for the students of Alta with quiet dedication. He teaches and facilities Drivers Ed; he is the athletic Director ordering buses, coordinating officials, checking eligibility, and more to allow Alta to continue its wonderful athletic tradition; and this year has joined the building leadership team bringing wisdom and a great perspective
Barry Harrington: nominated by Cody Nesbit and Bradon Watts Mr. Nesbit: I would like to nominate Barry Harrington from our social studies department. I just admire the time that he spends in service to our young people here at Alta High School. Maybe you can say "yeah he gets paid for these things" but his dedication to this school and community are admirable.
Cody Nesbit: nominated by Barry Harrington Cody is one of the most outstanding young teachers i've come i contact with. He is continually working on bettering himself whether it be classes taken, workshops gone to or continually updating his own personal curriculum . I have been able to discuss numerous World History topics with him and I am currently working with him on making a Pre and Post World History Test. He is always willing to share new ideas with other teachers, and i have been the recipients of numerous group activities, guided notes along with guided video notes.
Stan Holmes: nominated by Cheryl Hughes Knowing Sta is a part of our Alta faculty makes me proud of us. Stan is (of course) a complete professional, Knowledgeable in his discipline, curious and continually tackling new challenges from new courses and subject matter to mentoring other teachers in his department, to offering continuing education courses for teachers in the district.
Dyson Ellis: nominated by Logan Laszyck Dyson Ellis has been extremely impressive to me. I was able to witness as an outside observer some of the work he did for the "Silver and Black" debate tournament. Basically, Dyson had to coordinate with schools worked early and late into the night for three straight days for this competition. On a more personal note, there is nothing more impressive to me as a counselor than when a teacher has insight about a student.
Elisa Posey:
nominated by Elaine 'hardman She lovingly pushes her students and wants them to succeed. she does a lot of "extras" for Alta High School, such as various murals around the school and completely overhauling and painting the Alta varsity locker room. Che follows through and is an advocate for her home and hospital students seeking to hold them accountable for completing work at home.
Other Honors:
Ron Strohm: Ron won a $10,000 grant to be used in his Robotics and Automation class, which he will be teaching next year! Way to go Ron – we appreciate you and all you do for Alta!
